Demodex – Demodicosis

Demodex mite infestation is quite common and most frequently occurs on the eyelids and eyelashes. Characteristic signs of the condition include an eczema-like appearance, with characteristic inflammation at the roots of the eyelashes visible under a microscope. A sample is taken for laboratory confirmation. At our clinic, intensive and highly effective treatment is provided by the physician, who applies a special-strength tea tree extract to each eyelid separately. Treatment continues at home systematically with recommended foams.
