A fundus examination is a specialized test during which the ophthalmologist can view the retina of the eye. To examine the fundus, it is sometimes necessary to first dilate the pupil. This is done using special eye drops administered by the doctor to induce mydriasis. This allows the ophthalmologist to examine the optic nerve, the macula, as well as the blood vessels and the periphery of the retina. In our clinic, the lamp, which has a built-in high-definition camera, allows the patient to see the image of their fundus themselves.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \t
